v1.1 and Community Copies!

Thanks to your purchases, reviews, and shares, there are more community copies available! Tell your Raisin friends!

I've also gotten some great feedback from ya'll. Thanks for your interest in this playset.

I've made the following changes:

  • I cleaned up missing info (like starting Debt [which is 7, btw]) and removed references to removed features (like "Senior Rank").
  • I tried to use font styling to point out game terms vs. regular text.
  • I changed some terminology to keep things clearer and more thematic.
  • Termination no longer gives Credits - revitalizing your Terminated Employee instead gives an Advance (ignoring Credit Cost).
  • I've removed Resolve. It was a bit too powerful and a bit confusing in the already tight character sheets.
  • I clarified some rules:
    • players can't revitalize their Employee if they've already permanently crossed off 3 Stress.
    • The Dread Level resets after every Assignment
  • I included tweaks you can use for more "Heroic" employee campaigns, a la Metroid, Halo, Doom, Aliens, etc.
  • I created an "Appendix" document which includes:
    • Optional additions or tweaks
    • "Game Modes" (like the aforementioned Hero mode or joining the Resistance)
    • The included assignment (and likely more assignments to come...)
    • This is probably where I'll drop more content as I update in the future!
  • I'm probably forgetting some of my changes! I've got a baby, ok?

Keep the feedback coming! I'd love to hear your suggestions and play experiences.

Happy to see this work get the love and work it deserves. Gonna read that as soon as possible.

v1.1 is real freaking good. Almost everything that needed rework has been changed, clarified, ironed out.

I still have a few suggestions and questions though :

  • Why remove the attacks on perks that exists in Agon? I understand perks are way less permanent and as such this kind of attack isn't as much a problem, but removing any help or equipment of the protagonists is a great cliche of sci-fi horror and it's sad not having it.
  • The Manager AI is such a fun idea, I would love for it to be way way more obnoxious. Like giving it a d12 but completely removing any merit given for that action. Or being able to force individual people into competing. Something either incredibly dangerous or very very annoying.
  • The character sheet is good, but the symbols used for domains stand out a lot and are not very effective at communicating what the domains are for.
  • It would also be good to have a character sheet alone on a full page so we can then decide how to print it (maybe also make it simple to access to everyone by marking it as demo since the system is different enough you need the rest of the playset anyway)

Thanks for your second round of feedback! I'm hoping to expand on the manager AI and add other flavorful systems like that. I like your ideas a lot.

At some point I want to add "campaign module sheets" that suck the players into different multi-assignment, one being working for an overly ambitious Manager AI...

I'll revisit the perk harm tags. I made the decision to remove them at a time in dev. when perks weren't very common (esp. to lower level employees) and I hoped to make the game "extra lethal" by keeping the focus on the stress track. But things have changed!

RE: the character sheet printing, can you go further into "deciding how to print it"? I'm not against a printout with a single character keeper on it, I'd just like to understand how to offer that better.

Great stuff !
When you have a character sheet alone you can decide very easily to print it alone on an A4, or twice, four times or more with pdf printing options. It may be a bit more annoying if I need a one sheet character sheet as it is right now sonce I'd need to make it an image, edit the image for the part I need then print out the result.
Also a sheet alone is very useful for tablet play since it's way easier to have it readable that way.
